thePiecan Great little heads up from Gordon here! The maestro is back, broody & warming up the stable! He means business; with 'Signs', he more than announces his defiance! Favorite track: Signs.

Dirk Radloff The opener continues the atmospheric ambient-work of "Lifetimes ago", but latest on the second track we enter Prog-territory. Slight arabian influences let me thing on early Floyd a la "Set the controls ...". After an interlude the listener is gifted with the highlight "What remains?", a Prog-monster, which continues the message of "Signs". Everything is falling apart, but the "dance" remains. While the message might be not for positive minds, it is presented with much musical intensity. Favorite track: What Remains ?.

Lee Lucas A welcoming return from Gordon Midgley and he's back to doing what he does best. Guests might only be a 4 track EP but it delivers the goods in GREAT! PROGMATIC! style and I am pretty sure it will sit comfortably with most prog rockers who are into Rush. Pink Floyd, Marillion and many other GREAT! bands. You can find out more about the Midgely and his latest EP here: leespeaksoutaboutmusic.wordpress.com/2020/05/25/lee-speaks-about-music-151/ Favorite track: Signs.

Hearing the sound you turn in surprise, you are the one At prophecy scoffed, now reality shocks, the time has come Alone or en-masse you Pray to your god, you Cower in silence, you're Left to your fate The great and the good offer tributes, they see a way Drumbeats are sounding, in flames they are rolling There's no escape Left with no choice you Surrender your voice you Taking the hand Resigned to joining the dance Knowing your place Finding your place Taking your place

You loved me then you loved me not Long years best forgot Denying all that came before All talk of 'us' must stop Silent fall the chants and songs Bowing heads to fear The Dance draws near Silence spreads 'cross morning land Sun-setting from the East Draw you close, a moment's hope Smiling through the tears Denial first then all disowned A Judas kiss this time Guttering flames, the darkness looms We recognise the signs It's here Darkness here Horizon moving slowly, bodies sway to a distant drum Eager crowds, swell with hope, always hold the line They face us now, faithless and how, now faceless crowds Cannot meet their gaze The wraiths around, the lost are found The burden bends them so, hanging in the dark All we've known and loved, all the promises we made Fracturing 'til nothing's left but a silent half-lit cell Take the hand, take any hand, but where's the hand ? There's no-one left for you Just the dance remains Just the dance remains Just the dance remains For souls that sing no more Days are short, vision fades, horizon lost, behind the flames Beyond the night, beyond disguise, cloaked in fear, just the beat survives For souls that sing no more For souls that sing no more Only dance Only dance For souls that sing no more the dance remains

about

After a long spell in the doldrums I started to hear 'the head tunes' again and now I'm back with a four track EP : 'Guests'

Working quickly I've tried to maintain a degree of spontaneity in producing this EP, and as a result it might be a little rough around the edges.
I didn't want to take on a full-length album project because I felt it was more important to finish and release something.
To get it 'out there'.

Everything from the drums upwards was played manually and recorded to audio tracks.

And here we are.

'Guests' : twenty-four minutes of where I'm at.

Thanks to the people that looked after me.
You know what matters.
